Service Description
Private in-home lessons give you FOCUSED attention to get your sewing addiction going (newbies) or to step-up your current sewing skills with specialised lessons – you chose, it’s all about what you want to learn! Lesson can be for one person OR share the fun experience with your bestie, sibling or child (min 10 yrs). We offer BEGINNER BASICS with a project to sew (tote bag or envelope cushion) Or more ADVANCED techniques for those with good general sewing experience including: • Taking up hems and taking-in clothes • Zippers and mending techniques • Help with a sewing project Tailored to Your Level: Lessons are customised to your specific skill level, whether you're a total beginner or just want to learn and refine some specific sewing skills. Focus on Your Goals: You can choose to learn specific techniques, work on particular projects or explore different areas of sewing like taking up hems, taking-in clothes to fit you or your family, replacing zippers, hand mending, garment construction, home décor and more (basic sewing experience required). One-on-one Attention: It’s all about you and your goals! You receive focused guidance and feedback allowing you to learn at your own pace and address any challenges you encounter. What you need to have for a Private Lesson: • Your own standard size domestic sewing machine is ideal to give you the full range of learning. Smaller hobby machines are suitable for new sewers to learn the basics, but are not suitable for more advanced techniques. If you're unsure - please get in touch • Sewing Accessories: sharp fabric scissors, dressmaker pins, various cotton reels, tape measure, thread snips (optional), tailors chalk or pen and projects/fabric to work (or supplied) depending on the lesson. Any students under 18 yrs - a parent/guardian must be present during the lesson at all times. REQUEST to BOOK a time that suits you: Currently my time slots are showing for Mon, Thu, Fri & Sat afternoon but I can be flexible, so let me know your desired days/times in the booking form and I'll get in touch. Payment is not required until a day/time is confirmed (via invoice). * Only homes located within 15 minutes drive from The Pines Elanora can be accommodated at this time.
Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your booking, please let us know via the CONTACT Page. The below policy is effective from 15/07/2025 for all bookings. All bookings made prior to any modifications/updates to the policy will be honoured. Cancellation Policy - GROUP LESSONS To Cancel your booking, please Get in Touch Bookings are not confirmed until full payment is received. Once received, the following policy applies: * 100% Refund for cancellations with 7 days or more notice from the start of the class. * Cancellations with less than 7 days notice but more than 24 hours notice from the start of the class will be issued with a fully transferable full value credit note for a future booking to be used within 6 months of the original booking date. * No Refunds for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice from the start of the class. * No Refunds for a No-show to a class unless it is due to sickness, where we will issue a full value credit note upon issue by you of a doctor’s certificate to be used within 6 months of the original booking date. * You can Reschedule a class online up to 48 hours prior to the start of the class you wish to reschedule. Under 48 hours, please Get in Touch Waitlist - If a class is booked out and you wish to go on a waitlist, please Get in Touch Cancellation Policy - PRIVATE LESSONS * 100% Refund for cancellations with 24 hours or more notice from the start of the lesson * Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be issued with a fully transferable full value credit note for a future booking to be used within 6 months of the original booking date. Cancellations BY US * We reserve the right to cancel any class if there is insufficient enrolment and/or Private Lessons if instructor unavailability or other unforeseen circumstances. * You will be offered options for a full refund or reschedule of class and will be notified via SMS, phone and/or email at least 12 hours hour before the class if it is cancelled.
